The safety and wellbeing of you, our carers (Key Workers), care Seekers and their families will always be our top priority. We understand how concerning this time is, particularly for those with loved ones who may be most vulnerable to infection. We want to reassure you that we are taking proactive steps to ensure we have support tools in place to help carers protect themselves and their clients. We are providing regular updates to our carers, who all have access to robust training on Coronavirus management as well as Infection Prevention & Control and PPE. We will continue to update our policies & procedures in line with official advice from the Government. We are all adapting to the ‘new normal’ to always keep the clients safe in this new world. As part of this, it is important to keep up to date with developments, as official guidance is changing daily.

Covid-19 F.A.Q.

Is it still safe for my loved one to receive homecare from a seakr carer?

Yes. seakr carers take full responsibility for the safe and appropriate care they deliver. They choose their clients just as their clients choose them and may limit the number of clients and hours they work in order to keep themselves and those reliant upon them safe. seakr carers offer peer support to one another via the seakr app.

If my loved one is self-isolating/shielding, can they receive care?

Yes. Following the guidelines mentioned above and wearing the required PPE, we can continue delivering care safely to those who require our services.

What services can you support my loved one with during lockdown?

We are continuing to provide the same trusted homecare services we normally would. This includes hourly, overnight (waking or sleeping) and 24/7 live-in care. Our carers like to help with personal care, home care, companionship and shopping.
For clients who are shielding or self-isolating, our care teams can pick up shopping using dedicated hours at the supermarkets and collect prescriptions so clients can avoid unnecessary contact with others.

I am considering care for my loved one, can you still take on new clients at this time?

Yes. There are around 300 trusted and trained carers within the seakr carer community, offering live-in care right across the UK and hourly care across Berkshire and Surrey. We appreciate these are uncertain times and your usual support from family or other carers may not be available – we can arrange immediate or urgent care for short or long term so please get in touch here and choose your own carer today.

Are seakr still taking on new carers during the outbreak?

Yes. Vulnerable adults and their families contact us regularly looking for exceptional home care support and often want to choose their own carer(s). seakr gives you and your clients the freedom to choose one another and for you to deliver the heartfelt care you want to, on the days and times you wish and for an hourly rate you decide is fair for the important societal work that you do.
